Rather than follow this trend, we decided to take a new, revolutionary approach to the idea of quick-change jaws, creating an inherently safe, innovative and effective system that we could confidently put our name to.
In contrast to spring and pin mechanisms that can fail or be compromised by the build-up of wood dust and resin, VersaLock’s robust sliding and tightening system works smoothly in any environment. With no small, fragile parts to jam or weaken over time, it’s a simple and robust system you can trust, even in the dustiest of environments.
The key to VersaLock is in the use of modular base jaws that remain attached to the jaw slides in the traditional way, with inserts being added to them quickly and easily when required, rather than changing the whole jaw set. These jaws, which are compatible with the Record Power Victory, SC4 and SC3 chucks, eliminate the need for a dedicated quick-change chuck body, allowing existing Record Power chucks to be upgraded to the VersaLock system at a fraction of the cost of alternative options on the market.

The modular base jaws are also an incredibly useful and flexible set of jaws in their own right, featuring 50 mm diameter internal and external dovetail profiles, they are also compatible with other Record Power chuck accessories such as faceplates and deep wood screws. To complement the modular base jaw, after careful consultation with a number of professional woodturners and woodturning experts, we developed a range of three inserts, designed to offer maximum flexibility in the smallest range possible to ensure optimum versatility and value.
